Der von der BBC gefeierte Künstler Joel Baker veröffentlicht das Video zu seiner neuen Single „What’s A Song“ (Video-VÖ: 13.03.19)! Es ist die erste Single von Joel Bakers kommendem Album und zeigt seinen Fans jetzt schon deutlich in welche Richtung die Reise gehen wird, produziert wurde „What’s A Song“ von John Riley.
Joel Baker selbst sagt zu dem Song: „I wrote it a few years ago and it’s great to have it finally introduced to the world. When you lose someone in your life, especially someone who you’ve been living for, it leaves an ugly space that makes life feel worthless at times. Also, it’s hard to know how long to wait before you remove their profile icon from your Netflix account.

Die neue Single ist der Follow-Up zu seinem 2017er „Bag Of Dreams“ Mixtape auf dem Abra Cadabra einen Gastauftritt hatten und das Joel zusammen mit Courage (Ray BLK), Kin (Naughty Boy) und Maths Time Joy (Gallant) co-produziert hat. Mit einem Sound der irgendwo zwischen Ben Howard und frühen Jamie T. Songs liegt konnte Joel Baker schon Taylor Swift überzeugen die seinen Song „No One In Heaven“ in ihre „Songs Taylor Loves“ Playlist bei Spotify aufnahm.
Entdeckt wurde der ehemalige Redenschreiber der englischen Labour-Partei von BBC Introducing Nottingham und Key Champion DJ Dean Jackson nachdem er seine Demos in Parlaments-Umschlägen (inklusive offiziellem Siegel) verschickte. Die englische Radio und Medienlandschaft von BBC Local, BBC Radio 1, Beats 1 über i-D Magazine bis hin zu Clash liebt ihn schon jetzt.
Mit einer Headliner-Tour und dem mit Spannung erwarteten Debüt-Album vor der Brust wird 2019 mit Sicherheit den nächsten großen Schritt in Joel Bakers Karriere einleiten.
