Mit großen Schritten nähern wir uns dem Release des vierten Libertines-Albums „All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade“ am kommenden Freitag, 05. April 2024.
Zuletzt veröffentlichte die Band um Peter Doherty und Carl Barât eine weitere Single daraus, das getragene „Shiver“. „Reasons to stay alive, not to die at 25″, singt Doherty darin mit kraftvoller Stimme. Das ganz in schwarz-weiß gehaltene Musikvideo nimmt uns mit auf eine Beerdigung, mit an die englische Ostküste.
„Peter had a song and I had a song and we mashed them up and did it collaboratively„, berichtet Carl Barât über die Entstehung von „Shiver“.
Peter ergänzt: „Shiver is very much from Doherty/Barât, where I would probably find it difficult to work out who did what because we were both there the whole time through its creation. It should really be called ‚The Last Dream Of Every Dying Soldier‘, but everyone liked the title ‚Shiver‘.“
